[thealternativepress.com] WEST ORANGE, NJ - On Sunday, Sept. 14 the West Orange Elks stopped by Holy Trinity Episcopal Church to present a $1,000 check to the Holy Trinity-West Orange Food Pantry.

Don Reitmeyer, Exalted Ruler, and Jim Cowan, Lodge Esquire of West Orange Elks Lodge 1590 located at 424 Main Street, have always been big supporters of the food pantry. Whether it was dropping off turkeys, toiletries or checks, the West Orange Elks have always provided help to the food pantry as well as other community outreaches.

"There were some times in the past when we were almost out of money or food," said Cynthia Cumming, Food Pantry Administrator. "Someone would let the Elks know, the food pantry is in trouble, and without questioning a thing, they were there with food or a donation."

"We've already spent $2,000 this month on food," Cumming continued. "We had 150 families come for food last month. With Thanksgiving coming up, the Elks' generosity is so appreciated."
